We believe that sound environmental, social and governance (ESG) management practices can foster successful financial performance and build business resilience over the long-term.

We promote clear and consistent ESG management practices across our portfolio, to create value for our investors and uphold the integrity of the capital deployed.

Our policy on responsible investing aims to minimise ESG risks and maximise ESG opportunities at every stage of the investment cycle.

In line with our policy, we build ESG criteria into our due diligence processes – so that we only invest with managers and underlying funds that:

• Comply with relevant jurisdictional regulatory requirements at minimum; and
• Demonstrate United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).

We support a number of initiatives in South Africa. One NPO that we’re most passionate about funding is African Warriors of Light, who provide educational opportunities to impoverished households in South Africa. We’re helping them to meet daily expenses and expand their programme to reach more families across the country.
